10 Reasons to Love your Spokane Local Economy

Happy Valentines Day Everyone!

10)  Local business owners are more likely to be involved with and contribute to community efforts than corporations whose headquarters is located outside the Spokane area.

9)  Just like your loyal labradoodle, your local economy will love you back!

8)  Local businesses keep jobs here.  Instead of bringing in a small wing of a large company, a wing that might leave in 10 years, catalyzing the creation of local businesses creates jobs that will stay here in Spokane.

7)  Fresh, locally roasted coffee is delicious!

6)  Tax dollars from Spokane businesses support our own local services, and aren’t taken to other states.

5)  Have you tried locally grown food?  It’s amazing.  Our local farmers do a fantastic job.

4)  Local businesses provide product and service value.  More than getting you in and out as quick as possible, many local businesses want to establish a relationship with their consumers and their suppliers.  That means you can count on local retailers for better information, service, and (gasp!) even price.

3)  Because when it snows 3 inches, no one is calling from a head office in Florida to ask if we’re ok.

2)  Local businesses buy more often from other local businesses.  More money spent at Spokane retailers stays in the local community.

1)  Chocolates are made and roses are grown right here in Spokane.

The BALLE Spokane steering committee is meeting this week.  Send us an email or give us a call if you have any ideas you'd like us to discuss.
